Umeewarra Downtown

Image
The Platform Gallery was invited to be part of this event which is an off-shoot of the Adelaide Guitar Festival. A big thank you to Andrew Delaine of the music club for setting up the mike and speakers and using the music club's fabulous new mixer system that works by iPad. The sound was excellent. Tilly Tjala Thomas and Nathan May were two talented young singer songwriters who performed at The Platform on Saturday morning. The music was easy going and well enjoyed by the crowd who attended. It was so good to see the gallery space being used for such an event. Videos at Umeewarra Media FB Page  Tilly Thomas  Nathan May

Different Learning Topics

In 2019 Curdnatta Art Group has offered monetary support to the Wednesday evening art group and Jan Pana has travelled from Port Germein on a regular basis to provide skills and knowledge of drawing to the  group. The  iPad drawing workshop brought in some young faces and a youthful approach to art. It was one of those cases when everyone learnt from each other as we all had our own unique set of skills and knowledge. This could lead to more opportunities for young people to engage in gallery activities so stay tuned. We were so engrossed in our ART that we forgot to take photos but here is a summary of what we explored ... * creating a high resolution image for print on a range of products. * exploring layers in Procreate * taking a photo of an object *tracing the image * filling the image * duplicating the image * selecting and manipulating images * adding textural layers and exploring blends. *adding shading effects ...

Black and White Botanical

Image
The Curdnatta Photography Group held the opening to Black and White Botanical on Friday evening. It was a resounding success with many visitors enjoying the gallery experience for the first time. Participating photographers Morgan Palmer-Dunn, Peter Taylor, Bianca Johnson, Jasmine Kimber, Joy Hodshon, Beth Hooper, Rebecca Buono, Barry Lewis, Zonifer Lloyd, Irene Miller, Sadie Havelberg and Georgie Sharp produced a range of prints in black and white which are all complimentary to each other. Images may be purchased and there is also a photo-book which may be ordered. Special thanks to the Curdnatta Art Group for sponsoring the collaboration  and enabling artists to have their work printed for the exhibition.
