Student Exhibition

 Carlton School students officially opened their exhibition on Friday. The work and presentation is exceptionally good and a credit to their teacher Mali Allen-Place.





Students explored historical works and techniques before embarking on their own artworks.

All classes visited the gallery on Tuesday.




Thanks to Gayle, Anne, Christie and Georgie for hanging new works and giving the gallery a lift as we head into Spring.

 The May activities were well received, thanks to Anne Kenny, Gayle Naughton and Annette Kinnear also Anne and Beth at the desk, it was a busy morning                                                               Congratulations on this sale Gayle.  The Photographers enjoyed a lovely morning taking pics at the AALBG followed by coffee. They are also planning an exhibition of their B&W pics around September. Just a reminder that Management group needs to know of all activities that are taking place in the gallery. We want people to enjoy using the space but unauthorised use is not permitted. This is a requirement of our lease agreement and insurance provider. Security Camera doing its job over night.

Jumping into 2024

 Wow we hit the year running with The Floor being renovated and everyone helping with the BIG move back setting everything up again. We have a slick pared back look for 2024. This was followed by THE FRINGE set up.  We have about 40 participants in UNDISCOVERED with an eclectic range of arts and crafts from all ages. Congratulations to all. On February 15th we held our first Family Friendly Art Morning. These will be held on the 3rd Saturday of each Month. Time table is at the website. https://curdnatta.wixsite.com/website In February we celebrate our 59th Birthday and now we gear up for our 60th in 2025. The BIG focus for our 60th will be the  MAY EXHIBITION  This is a return to an old tradition where all members participate and we celebrate the diversity of our members. We have 12 months to prepare so no excuses :-D

Moving into March

Well WOW!!! Our workshops have proved to be very popular and the first 4 are full with others filling quickly  and attached waiting lists. Members can check the status of workshops in the communications book at the gallery.  EXHIBITIONS "DABULOUS" by FIBRESPACE Inc. will be featured until the end of March and coincides with the "VOICES" exhibition that is currently featured at Yarta Purtli Gallery. This expands on the ongoing collaboration between Fibrespace and Lapland. DABULOUS VOICES Photos by Melanie Sarantou Dyed Products by Vicki Fox will be exhibited from Thursday April 5th.  YOUTH WEEK EXHIBITION from April 13th - 27th We are currently looking at ways to increase our volunteers at The Platform with the view of opening the gallery more often especially during the tourist season.
