September Review

 September has been one of our most successful months this year!

The combination of A Brush With Art, The Rangeland Conference, the usual tourists, local visitors and Pichi Richi patrons resulted in over 400 people visiting the gallery.

A big congratulations to everyone who sold a little something.

Key Points from The Monthly Meeting:

REMINDERS
  • Signs -  Banners on the fence Out Thursday in Saturday.
  • Main A frame at the front of the gallery is brought in at the end of the day. Second A frame goes on the platform brought in at the end of the day.
  • Day book - please set out as indicated in procedures book it is easier for Tammy. 
  • Check day's activity in the day book. We all succumb to human error from time to time and omit information.
  • Check in store room for items that can be taken home.
  • When closing Gallery check blinds are down, toilet door is closed, alarm is activated.
  • If using music room please leave as found. - wipe coffee stains off tables , chairs returned etc.
  • We need bubble wrap and cardboard suitable for wrapping paintings.

Monthly report... 
  • Purchases..electrical cord covers, Buffing pads, Jewellery display case
  • Air conditioners have been serviced
  • The lock on the back door has been tightened.
  • The lock to the cellar has been changed and can be opened with the General key.
  • The NBN is being made accessible to the whole station building. - cables in the cellar.
  • Request to fix  door in  disabled toilets has been met.
  • All signed paperwork by tradies is in the back of the communications book.
  • Several new members..  Membership list is updated and in folder at desk 
  • Over 70 members ... have to break emails into smaller groups to avoid being classified SPAM. 
  • Felting Workshop and Rangeland Conference success.  SEE BLOG.

Decisions
  • Additional gallery display items will be purchased. The styling team will decide on suitable additions.
  • Students under 16 who attend workshops must be accompanied by a responsible adult. 
  • USE OF GALLERY SPACE 
    • The gallery is a shared space for artists pursuing their particular disciplines and the needs of all participating groups / members must be considered when planning activities.
    • Special events by outside parties need to be negotiated with management group and generally require a $100 donation.
    • Others such as school exhibitions by negotiation. 
    • At least one member needs to be in attendance at special events.
    • Photographer members using the space for professional activities need to apply to the management committee - date and time negotiated - donation - personal insurance for equipment etc.


Coming Events 
  • TAR Centenary we begin setting up PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITION 5th /6th October . This is supported by Beyond Bank. Official opening Sat OCTOBER 14th at 10am. All members invited to attend. 
  • Year 11 student art exhibition opening on November 2nd at 5pm members welcome.
  • Writers group is launching a book at the library 15th November. End of year recital and afternoon tea 7th December.
  • Last meeting day is the 25th November ... meeting followed by lunch. Currently looking into catering. 
  • Last trading day 22nd of December.
  • Gallery open again on January 18th





A big thank you to members who attend the general meetings on the last Saturday of each month, it helps to keep the gallery running smoothly.
