November Events

On November 2nd the Port Augusta Secondary School opened an exhibition of art works by senior students.
The small gallery was perfect for this and each student's work was displayed well. There were about 50 people at the opening and quite a few returned to have another look during the fortnight the work was on display.
It was encouraging to see young people connect with the local art gallery and we look forward to an ongoing association.

On Wednesday the 15th November The Port Augusta Writers Launched the book they created in collaboration with the Whyalla Writers at The Port Augusta Library.
Everyone is to be congratulated on the result. "Recipes for Living" is the title of the anthology and provides something  for all tastes in writing.

Members of The Fibrespace Textile Art group met at The Platform Gallery on Thursday 16th November to assemble a piece of work that is destined for Lapland. "Piece of Heaven" is a textile installation where each piece is created in different parts of the world: in Port Augusta and Streaky Bay, South Australia, in Windhoek, Namibia, in Rovaniemi, Finland and in Murmansk, Russia. Each of the locations relates to Margin to Margin artistic research project see: https://margintomargin.com/
