Happy 54th Birthday

Happy Birthday!
Curdnatta Art Group has now been in existence for 54 years.

The perfect way to celebrate was to attend a workshop and learn something new .....

Participants at Sofie Dieu's Ink Painting Workshop were given some practical skills and techniques before being set loose with black and white ink and gold leaf.
Sofie is travelling around Australia providing workshops along the way. We were lucky to have an artist with her background and experience offer this workshop for us.

Sofie's website is an indication of her professional approach to her work, something we could all learn from.

We have a number of our members currently exhibiting their work at Yarta Purtli.

Our next workshop is with the photography group on
March 9th at 1pm.

Audrey Christophersen's "PETITE PICS"  exhibition will open on Friday. Please take some time to visit this and congratulate Audrey on collecting a body of work to display.
Please note that the desk has been cleared so that it is easier for people on duty to wrap artworks.We ask that everyone tries hard to keep it that way ;}}

Reminder about checking  till, lights, toilet door and alarm before you leave all of which have been overlooked in the last month.

We are having a BUSY BEE CLEANING SESSION immediately following the meeting in March.
The gallery needs a quick once over before the tourism starts so please bring some cleaning gear it shouldn't take long.
This might be a good time to take home any pieces that have been at the gallery for a long time.

A BRUSH WITH ART

We had a lively discussion about a theme for our involvement in this September event.
The over arching theme or title is .......

"Turning of the Tide"

This may be interpreted in many ways:
Literal images of tides and oceans
The changing times in our area
Changes in arts' practices
Something that is making a difference
Other

We ask that everyone contribute to this in much the same way as we did with our May Exhibitions. This will provide some fresh work in time for Christmas and the end of year gift giving.

Thanks to everyone who has offered to do a regular door duty... the roster is working very well.

SALife Magazine are planning to include information about The Platform Gallery and the Black and White Botanical exhibition in the editorial of their July food and wine issue.
