March Madness

Things are beginning to move along quite nicely at The Platform.
Local visitors are paying return visits and the first of the tourists have been dribbling in.
We had a bus load from Adelaide through on Saturday morning.

Audrey's Petite Pics looks lovely, congratulations Audrey.

Anne Kenny certainly started something with her "Flat Rat" and as usual one thing led to another and we have a "Kookie Kitchen" corner which is great FUN!!

The Photographers workshop on March 9th was successful and we have 4 new members.
The current theme is "BRIDGES". You can see some of the photographers work at the Facebook group here...

Photographers are currently compiling a collection of works for the July exhibition "Black and White Botanical"

Thank you to those members who came along to the last meeting and did a general clean and tidy up following the hot, dusty Summer in preparation for the tourist season.

Our next workshop is the water colour workshop with Alan Ramachandran, there are still a couple of places available.

Georgie is working towards the next exhibition "New Directions" and putting some of the new knowledge from Sofie's workshop into practice.

Gayle and Georgie will open the gallery on Sunday 7th to make the most of the Garage Sale day opportunity with Mumma Lou's open for the morning and a couple of stalls in the vicinity, we will see how it goes.

The gallery will be closed over Easter and on Anzac Day.

Members of the group will attend the Connecting Community Expo on 19th May. Let us know if you are interested in participating.

Shared ethos of the day:
o   Showcase what is actually on offer, how to access and importantly the benefits of belonging
o   Showcase Port Augusta
o   Celebrate what is happening and share with others
o   No selling or fundraising as that would give a market atmosphere, this event is different. Promote services but no selling on the day. Do activities which promote programs and provide information.

o   Selling memberships to organisations eg garden club is different, as it is an aim of the day for people to be more connected.

The Music Club and Curdnatta Art Group have synchronised their calendars. A printed version is on the wall in the kitchen if anyone is looking to see which days and times are available.

REMINDER:  SEPTEMBER - A BRUSH WITH ART theme is "Turning of the Tide". We encourage everyone to participate in this.
